A demonstration for my art class
A few weeks ago, my students and I spent a week studying the working style of the master impressionist artist, Paul Cézanne. I painted this as a demonstration study at my art class; of course it’s difficult to pack in all the beautiful brushwork, innovation and courageous aspects of a Cézanne into an A4 size canvas but the exercise was about loosening up and not being dragged backwards by your photographic reference. It took roughly 30 minutes. It’s painted in oils on A4 canvas-textured oil painting paper. It’s on auction at the link below.
