I don’t do straight, regular portraiture. It doesn’t really interest me – there are plenty of other people who do that. I like to put the subject in the context of their interests and achievements. These paintings are novel, have a longer-lasting value to the recipient as people seldom like to have a straightforward portrait of themselves hanging in their own home and make perfect surprise gifts for art-friendly people. Far better to represent their passions and interests in a humourous way.

You don’t have to have a portrait. You can have any kind of art to grace your walls. If you like a narrative painting but it has been sold, we can discuss themes and compositions that would suit you, the same way it has been done since antiquity by the old masters and their patrons.
