Remote Zoom Art Demonstrations

🎨 Live Online Painting Demonstration with Kevin McSherry
NEXT CLASS
Friday, 19th SEPT 2025 | 6:30 PM GMT | On Zoom | €25

Join me for a Zoom online painting demonstration

Step into the magic of an impressionist garden! In this live Zoom demonstration, I’ll be painting a luminous figure surrounded by blossoms and greenery — inspired by Monet’s enchanting style. Together, we’ll explore how to capture sunlight in soft, glowing pastel colours, creating a sense of warmth and atmosphere on the canvas.

As I paint, I’ll talk you through each stage — not just what I’m doing, but why — so you can take away practical insights to use in your own work. You’ll receive the photographic reference image in advance, but the focus of this event is watching, absorbing, and enjoying the process. You can always revisit the painting yourself afterwards, at your own pace.

We’ll end with a Q&A — bring your questions, big or small. It’s always a relaxed, welcoming space.

This session is designed especially for beginners to intermediate painters. As I work, I’ll guide you through every step—explaining techniques, brushwork, colour mixing, and composition choices in a clear and accessible way.

You’ll also receive a link to the reference photograph beforehand, so you can paint it in your own time.

You can paint along if you wish but I think the best approach would be to observe and jot down questions as you think of them. There will be a Q/A at the end, so you can ask me anything then. Remember there are NO silly questions: This event is aimed at beginners to intermediate painters.

Don’t forget, I’m a fast painter – I have to be in order to allow these demos to be accessible. If you can’t keep up with what I’m doing, you’ll always have the opportunity to review the whole demonstration in the recording for a whole week afterwards. I’ll send you the link the following day as it becomes available.

You can join these classes with most devices. You can use your Windows or Mac desktop PC or your iPad / or Android tablets. YOu could even use your smartphone, though the screen might be too small to get the best out of the video.

All you need is the Zoom link which will be sent to you automatically when you register for the class.

One more thing you could have is a set of headphones or earbuds. It’s not vital; it just prevents noisy feedback loops when you’re all unmuted during the Q/A ssession. If you don’t, not to worry; Zoom seems to handle extraneous noise very well.

These online painting demonstrations are great Kevin, especially your understanding of colour and colour mixing. I’m so looking forward to the next one!

I love Kevin’s online demonstrations. I live too far from the physical classes to attend often and these really solve that problem. The demonstrations are a perfect way to pick up new techniques and the Q/As at the end of the classes are very informative.
