Remote Zoom Beginners Art Course
Zoom Remote Beginners Art Course
It’s always much better to be together in the same room, talking and laughing and painting together but sometimes, it’s impossible – the class is just too far or some other obstacle crops up.
The best way to learn to paint is by repetition of a simple workable process on a small canvas. I will demonstrate a complete painting from start to finish. I explain what I’m doing as I go along and then there will be a Q&A. Remember -this is about internalising the process: Paint Oils; Paint Small; Paint Often! By the end of this course, you should be able to approach ANY oils or acrylics painting with confidence.
You also get a video recording of the entire class for one week afterwards, so you can review the exercises. Only €140 for seven 1 hour classes.
Classes start at 7pm (GMT=1) on September 24th 2024. Use the form below to book.
If you have any problems securing your place on the online art course for beginners, please just email or call me on +353 (0)86 247 0737 and we can sort out any booking problems.

What will you learn?
Week 3
What is alla prima painting? Why is it the best way to learn to paint?
I recommend certain materials -especially paints. I chose a brand that is commonly available throughout Ireland and the UK and also available in the US. Paints from different brands may vary in colour, so be aware that you may get (for example) a Permanent Rose by another marque but the colour could be significantly different.
I’ll show and explain different kinds of brushes, painting surfaces, palettes,
I’ll explain the process and do a small demonstration.

What will you need to bring?
Make sure you have a good PC or tablet with a decent size screen. A smartphone would be too small! Have your painting kit with you especially for the first week as we’ll be going through the best options for materials.
Make sure you have headphones or earbuds – Zoom gets noisy if my voice comes out through your speakers and then back into your microphone! You will be muted during the demonstrations but you can always use the ‘Raise your Hand’ function or comment in the ‘Chat’ box.
Have a notebook with you so you can jot down new information. You may also think of questions to ask during the Q&A.
