Ribbed Silver Jug on Blue Daily Painting

It’s Friday evening and I’ve just finished this little oils study. It’s just as well as the fire went out in my stove and I had to get back into the house. I spent the whole morning doing web site work and I hadn’t put a brush to canvas, so after lunch I built a fire and threw this little silver jug onto the stand in front of me and got painting.

I’ve painted it several times before -like most of the objects I’ve collected over the years. If you have any beautiful silverware you don’t mind me using as a subject, I’d be delighted to borrow it for a short while. You will get it back, I promise…
