I hope you’re keeping well. I have four bits of artsy news:
- Due to popular demand, evenings are coming back! At least, this coming week, I’ll start off with Thursday evening at 7pm.
You can register for each online classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning and Thursday evening here: https://www.mcsherrystudio.com/virtual-art-class/ - This week, we’re off to the beach. At least, we can let our imaginations take flight if we don’t feel like chancing being cooped up in an airliner… One good reason for this exercise is the painting of convincing and lively skies. Another is, how do we get across the feeling of warmth? Get your sarongs ironed and join me next week. Each day we’ll work from a different photo reference. Scroll down to see our reference images for the week below.
- I’ll be holding an informal Facebook Live video meet up in my studio again this coming Sunday at 11am. Coffee time. It’s a great chance to talk to you and perhaps answer questions if you have any (by message). I’ll show you on camera what we did in class over the week and artwork that I’ve done recently. I’ll also take you through another of my sketchbooks as I did last Sunday.
You can join on my Facebook page at this link and it’ll be lovely to see you. - We’re going to paint at An Grianán in County Louth again. This en plein air painting event will now be held on the weekend of September 9. If you want to go on a painting holiday that’s just a drive away, check out all the details at this link. All accommodation is now single rooms only to keep to the social distancing advice.
Paint oils, paint small, paint often!
