Landscape Painting in a Beautiful Wicklow Village
Workshop: 10am – 4.30pm. Saturday JUNE 15th. Grangecon, Wicklow. €85
En Plein Air. Painting the landscape with Kevin McSherry
Join me in beautiful, friendly Grangecon in County Wicklow, where we will explore the village and surrounding beauty spots in the second workshop to be held here (The pictures are from class excursions to other locations). We can relax and you can order lunch in The Grangecon Kitchen (not included).
En plein air landscape painting is an unsurpassed way of unwinding, getting a healthy dose of sweet fresh air and meeting friendly, like-minded and interesting people.
Hopefully the weather will hold out but if not, the contingency plan will be to paint indoors in the superb school hall. I will demonstrate and guide you as the day goes on. Starts 10am and finishes at 4.30pm. 1 hour for lunch.
What level painter do I need to be?
This is for anyone who always wished to paint ladscapes. However, I think you should have at least a little experience; it might be overwhelmeing to have to learn about the materials AND paint outdoors in the same session! If you’ve painted anything before and have a basic understanding of colour, you’ll enjoy it.
You will need an ‘en plein air‘ easel that you can bring with you plus oils or acrylics. (Those spindly tripod easels are fine). You can call me if you need any more information: 086 247 0737
Limited to 10 participants only. If you can’t book using this button, it means all places have been taken -but join my mailing list (at left) to be notified about other opportunities.
Stuff you should bring
You will need an ‘en plein air’ easel that you can bring with you plus oils or acrylics. I have one spare one for the first participant that calls me. Otherwise, a standing tripod easel will do.
A hat for good weather. Clothes suitable for the weather. Bring water to drink and whatever refreshments you require.
