Studio Art Class: Intro

What level do I teach?
I welcome everybody from complete beginners who’ve never held a brush before, to intermediate painters who just want to hone their skills.
How many students are in each class?
There are up to 6 students ONLY at a time in my ‘in-studio’ classes which allows for a lot of one-to-one attention.
What do classes involve?
There’s a complete demonstration at every class. This will give students an overall view of the process of painting ‘wet-into-wet’ or alla prima oils. Then students will either paint objects from life or use photographic landscape references under guidance. The aim is to finish a painting at each class.
Is there any outdoor work?
During the spring and summer months (and when the weather holds out!), we make occasional field trips to local beauty spots. For more focussed outdoor trips, I organise them as weekend workshops.

I give no-nonsense tuition about all aspects of painting -from creation to how to build your artistic career. You’ll receive my full attention and support as there are only ever small numbers in class. This is a friendly, encouraging and engaging environment.
