2022 Summer Teen Art Camps Online
2022 Summer Teen Art Camps Online is a week of fun drawing for teenage budding artists to spark creativity (13-17yrs). I’m an artist, longtime illustrator and cartoonist with work appearing all over the world. When I was young, I was always fascinated by illustrated book covers and comics such as Look and Learn and The Eagle. They were part of every child’s life. At home, we also had access to French comics such as Asterix and Tintin – there’s a whole world of excellent francophone graphic novels and comics that we seldom see in the Anglosphere.
What will we do?
We’ll have fun. Together at this 2022 Summer Teen Art Camps Online, we’ll work on creating art from our imaginations. It could be your favourite books, music or characters. Each day, I’ll start by showing you an example or two of my drawings and then we could choose a subject such as a scene or character from Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, Lord of the Rings or your own favourite comic characters. How about a Space story? Aliens? Your greatest sporting moment? Your favourite summer activity? What’s the most ridiculous thing you can think of? We’ll also cover creative lettering as that’s also a great asset to your drawing.
Each day I’ll show you a different medium: Pencils; Sharpies, Biros, Dip-pens (if you have one); Fineliners and/or brushes and ink. You can choose whichever you like best. The whole idea is to draw out the creativity of your teenager: creativity, humour and individuality. Drawing is something that should be unique to each person – and the good news is; we don’t have to be Leonardo da Vinci!
What do I need for 2022 Summer Teen Art Camps Online?
Since this is an online teen art camp, using Zoom, all you’ll need is a PC with a webcam, some drawing tools (pencils, Biros, fineliners or Sharpies are great) and a pad of cartridge paper (You can find these in any art shop and many newsagents. Mr Price is especially good).
I’ll help you gain new skills and approaches to drawing -and to think like an artist. In this week-long camp, we’ll work with various mediums – but all achievable. We all started somewhere!
Each day from 11AM to 1PM -with a 15 minute break in the middle for you to take a snack.
