Thank you so much for my first painting lesson. I feel quite emotional, mostly because I regret that I didn’t do this decades ago! Well, there’s no time like the present…

Study of Rathmines: Four Faced Liar clock tower.

I'm in Rathmines nearly every day -it's my go-to place for shopping. It has everything you need; supermarkets, pharmacies, clothes shops and cinemas -including the beautifully restored art deco cinema, The Stella, with its sumptuous seating and softly-lit table lamps. This is a view from near that cinema, overlooking the road that leads directly into Dublin city centre and Rathmines town hall.

A friend of mine told me that locals call it, 'The Four-faced Liar" because each face of the clock shows a different time. I've often wondered why it never has been fixed; maybe it's just that they can't find the time to do it...Groan.
